• All barriers to full press freedom and methods used to oppress the media will be eliminated.
• We shall encourage a strong, independent, impartial and pluralistic media to ensure that citizens fully enjoy the right to be informed.
• Arbitrary administrative penalties against the media will cease.
• Cartels in the media will be prevented and broken up.
• The links between media, politics and business, which in our view harm the credibility free press will be regulated to avoid conflicts of interest.
• The practice of using public resources to support pro-government media outlets will be ended.
• The authority of the PM to stop radio and TV broadcasts, in our view the major impediment to full press freedom, will be ended.
• The current legal and employer-based obstacles denying the right to unionize to media workers will be purged.
• TRT’s ties to the government will be severed, rendering the state-owned broadcaster financially and editorially independent.
• Considering local media as a valuable actor in politics, attention will be given to strengthen their institutional and financial structure.
• Considering that Internet is the new world of freedom, excessive regulations and censorship will be reduced.
