CHP Group Deputy Chairman Özgür Özel proposed opening a Parliamentary Assessment Committee with respect to the construction of the new Istanbul airport where a number of work accidents have happened with casualties along with ban of protests from workers.

The airport is set to open its operations on the anniversary of the Turkish Republic, on 29 October 2018.
