Turkey’s Statistics Institute TUIK released the latest figures regarding migration within and outside of Turkey. According to TUIK, the number of people who migrated from Turkey increased by 42.5% in 2017 in comparison with the previous year and reached 253,640. Moreover, Iraqi nationals topped the list of foreign nationals entering Turkey in 2017 with 26.6%.
Taking a closer look to the age groups with have migrated from Turkey, it has been noted that that those between the ages of 25-29 are the largest group in that respect with 15.5%. 54% of this group is composed of men whilst 46% women.
As regards the population that is migrating to Turkey, there has been an increase by 22.4% in 2017 in comparison to the previous year with 466,333 people. Again, the largest age group migrating to Turkey are those aged 25-29 with 12.3%. 52.3% of them are men whilst 47.7% of them women.
